Bait and Switch

Okay, I admit it. Sometimes I go trolling for libs purely for the fun of it. A couple of days ago, I commented on a friend’s status update on Facebook thinking a lib might decide to respond. Sure enough, I got a bite.

It was interesting going back and forth with guy. He kept backing away from topics and refusing to address anything in detail. The only thing he kept coming back to was Roe v. Wade. He kept saying I was an ignoramus and didn’t know crap about the Constitution because I said that the right to an abortion is nowhere to be found in that document. After several exchanges, I finally figured out that he was elevating the majority opinion from Roe v. Wade to the same level as the Constitution itself.

This points up a truism regarding liberals. Many of them feel that only the “specialists” in D.C., be they czars or judges, are capable of peering into their tea leaves and goat entrails in order to tells us what the law means, be that law the Constitution or some 2,000 page chunk of legislation. It’s trickle-up better-then-youism, so to speak.

  1. When you get right down to it, the pro-abortion people are supporting the right to kill someone who has never harmed anyone, has no means of defense, and, according to the Constitution, has a right to life. Women, except in the cases of rape or incest, have the right to choose from several forms of birth control. If the conceived child’s birth mother does not want him/her, there are many people eager to adopt. No matter how often nor how loudly liberals proclaim the right to abortion on demand, it remains what it is…a sad commentary on the selfishness of those who call right wrong and wrong, right.
