Same Playbook, Different Day

The left always has problems with reality. On any topic from economics, to peace in the Middle East, to global warming, the sky is always a pleasant shade of purple in the world of a typical liberal.

It really comes as no surprise then to see Anti-Defamation League defaming Glenn Beck for his recent stories on George Soros. Does anyone take time to put in the research to seriously refute Beck’s assertations? Nope, the ADL says that he can’t speak ill of Soros because he was born a Jew, much the same way that the NAACP say that people who oppose Obama are racists. (And let’s not forget that Christine O’Donnell was a witch.)

There’s a good reason that liberals can’t argue the facts with a well-informed opponent who isn’t afraid to speak his (or her mind): they lose. On that note, Chris Christie is the man.

  1. In the article you linked it doesn’t say the ADL said Beck couldn’t talk about Soros because he was Jewish. They said it was offensive to speak of those things as reasons to think less of him. “Mr. Foxman asserted that Mr. Beck’s invoking of the childhood experience was “unacceptable,” adding, “To hold a young boy responsible for what was going on around him during the Holocaust as part of a larger effort to denigrate the man is repugnant.”

If you have not already I encourage you to read the article linked within the article you referenced. I can’t imagine how this could be taken in a better context, but if it was not taken out of context then much of what Beck said is offensive and misleading.

“It’s true, of course, that Soros has had a hand in bringing down governments—communist, authoritarian governments.” “Beck’s implication is that there was something sinister in Soros’ support for anti-communist civil society organizations in the former Soviet Union.”

    Matt is a silly ninny.

    • Did you watch Beck’s program or are you just taking the word of the ADL and the Daily Beast? I saw his TV show from Tuesday. Beck wasn’t painting Soros as an anti-Semite. He was going into detail pointing out Soros’s origins and using the man’s own words to show what kind of person he is and what he has in mind for the United States.

Don’t start calling names before you equip yourself with something resembling the facts.

      • I only added the “Silly ninny” because you like to mock people and call them names and this blog was not letting me post last night. It has nothing to do with my point.

I have not seen the show in question. I based my observations off of the article that you linked to in the story. I thought that you found the article credible and that was why you linked to it. Apparently my assumption was incorrect.

        • I linked to the NYT story because it illustrates my point that, as a general rule, the left can’t argue with a well-informed conservative on the facts. Leftist activists/pundits tend to pick some other topic in an effort to impugn the conservative’s integrity rather than deal directly with the conservative argument.

  2. I forgot to say that that video did make that guy sound pretty good. I don’t know all the facts but he made a pretty strong case against Teachers Unions not being reasonable and not grasping reality in this economy. I am not a teacher and I can confirm that I have not had a raise in YEARS, and in fact I have had a reduction in pay due to increased insurance costs and a reduction in other benefits provided by my job and Sasha’s.
